How does a dictatorship work? What role does an archive play in learning from history? The education team of the Stasi Records Archive works at the site where Stasi Minister Erich Mielke signed orders for almost four decades. We supervise school classes participating in project days on the 4th floor. Students explore the former Stasi grounds, analyse original archival documents and learn about the work and methods of the GDR secret police in the Stasi Museum. The education team also provides classroom material and supports teachers with digital offers.
